The Bettendorf Community School District (BCSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachael Dierickx as the interim principal of Herbert Hoover Elementary School, beginning in July, pending board approval.
Dierickx brings nearly two decades of experience in education and a deep commitment to student success, staff development, and collaborative school communities. She currently serves as Associate Principal at Bettendorf Middle School and previously held the role of District MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) Facilitator, where she led efforts to ensure all students receive targeted academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support.
“Rachael brings a wealth of experience and a shared passion for fostering academic achievement, student well-being, and strong school communities,” said Dr. Michelle Morse, Superintendent. “We are proud to continue growing our own leaders here in Bettendorf, and Rachael is a great example of the talent and dedication within our district.”
Dierickx began her career as a classroom teacher and later served as an instructional coach, building a strong foundation in curriculum, professional learning, and student-centered practices. Her leadership experience includes facilitating professional development, coordinating intervention systems, and supporting both staff and students through data-informed decision-making.
“I am honored to serve the Herbert Hoover Elementary community,” said Dierickx. “Bettendorf has been my home for many years, and I am excited to continue working alongside dedicated staff, students, and families to support every learner’s success.”
Dierickx holds multiple advanced degrees in education and educational leadership, along with a principal endorsement, and is known for her collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
