BHS, September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and this is a topic we take very seriously here at BHS.This month’s theme at BHS is Community & Connection, and there is no better time to put that into action. Connection matters. Sometimes simply noticing someone, checking in, listening, or helping a friend connect with an adult can make a difference.Tomorrow, your Advisory lesson will focus on suicide prevention and how each of us can Start the Conversation and Be the Difference for someone who may be struggling. Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone, regardless of age, race, gender, or other personal characteristics. Suicide is preventable, especially when we are willing to talk, listen, and support one another. If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 to connect with a trained crisis counselor. 988. Because you matter. Throughout September, there will also be many opportunities to get involved in Suicide Prevention activities during PRIDE Time. Check your announcements email each day to see what PRIDE Sessions are being offered and find a way to get involved. This month, let’s live out our theme: Community & Connection. Check in. Reach out. Listen. Include. Be the difference.
