Seniors interested in giving a speech at graduation need to complete the following to be considered:

  • Pick one of two topics: past or future. You may only submit one speech.

  • Speeches should be 2-3 minutes in length.

  • Complete the Class Speaker Google Form by May 1, 2026 at 11:59pm.

  • Note: Any member of the senior class is eligible to submit their name.

  • Those who sign up will read their speeches as an audition with administrators and staff on May 7th and 8th. The selection committee will choose one speaker for each topic.

  • Bett Boys brought the second-highest number of entries of any high school team in the state to this competitive meet with 15 entries.

    • 5 new school records set at one meet!

      • 400 hurdles - Gage Tucker placed 2nd 52.60 and JJ McDermott was 4th

      • 3200m - AJ Willey places 5th, lowering his own school record- 16th fastest in state history. 

      • Mile - AJ Willey runs 4:10, breaking the school record, which converts to the 13th fastest time in state history.

      • 800m - AJ Willey lowers his own school record 1:53.74

      • 4 x 400 - Billy Miller, Kamari Harris, JJ McDermott, Gage Tucker go 3:15.76 for a school record and 12th fastest in Iowa HS History

    • Other entries

      • 8th in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay: Billy Miller, Amos Spector, Tyler Neilsen, JJ McDermott

      • 4x100 - Amos Spector, Billy Miller, Caleb Brown, Kamari Harris

      • Gage Tucker and Kamari Harris in the 400

      • 4x800 -14th Aj Willey, Andrew Heden, Dawson Allen, Nolan Raabe

      • DMR - 14th Place Billy Miller, Caleb Brown, Kamari Harris, Andrew Heden

      • Andrew Heden in the 3200 and 1600

      • JJ McDermott in the 110HH


  • Congratulations to the cast, crew, and pit of this weekend‘s production of Anastasia. You all did a phenomenal job!

Upcoming events/deadlines: 

  • Attention Seniors! Prom and After Prom tickets are now available in the activities office. Prom tickets are free, and after prom tickets are $20 each. If you plan to bring a guest, make sure to get guest forms filled out in advance! 

  • Beetlejuice is coming to the Adler Theatre April 28th-30th!  Special student ticket pricing is available for $25 with a student ID. Tickets must be purchased in person at the Adler Box Office, Monday through Friday from 10 am-5 pm.

  • Cultural Diversity Club - meeting this Wednesday, April 29th at 7:35 am in B202.  We are celebrating seniors, wrapping up AAPI activities, and planning for next year! :)
