  • Seniors, there was a mistake in the scholarship form, and we inadvertently left a scholarship off the application form. All applications are due by 3:25 PM on Friday, April 24th.

The Dr. A.E. Lampe Family Scholarship is available for you to apply. You must write a 500-1000 word essay on what your plans are after high school, where you will be attending, what you will be majoring in, and why you want to be a nurse. This can be printed and turned into Mrs. Cauwels in Student Services, or it can be shared with her through Google Docs.

The Scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years, for a total of four years awarded to one individual. To renew this Scholarship, the recipient must provide the Scholarship Selection Committee with a timely application and must satisfactorily demonstrate continued coursework toward a degree in nursing with a minimum grade point average of 3.0/4.0 or its equivalent. If a Scholarship recipient is no longer pursuing a degree in nursing, or if the recipient has received this Scholarship award four times, then the Scholarship Committee shall select a new recipient.

The Scholarship was established in 2008 by Therese M. Lampe (Katie) to encourage and reward graduating seniors from Bettendorf High School who are pursuing a career in nursing. The Scholarship is awarded every four years.

Criteria: The award recipient must be a senior student.

  1. The recipient first must demonstrate a commitment to community involvement through volunteering or other extracurricular activities in the community.

  2. Overall G.P.A. must be a minimum of 3.0/4.0 or its equivalent

  3. Members of the Scholarship Selection Committee and relatives of members of the Scholarship Selection Committee shall be ineligible to apply for and receive this Scholarship.

  4. The award recipient shall have demonstrated success at BHS with a high grade point average in science courses taken, achievement in all coursework, and demonstrated interest in pursuing an undergraduate degree in nursing after high school.
