Tell us a little about yourself outside of work (family, pets, hobbies). I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and dog, Charlee. I also love crafting - embroidery has become one of my favorites! I've also been a life-long lover of sports. I played volleyball and basketball growing up and did some coaching at previous buildings in both sports. I like taking walks/runs when it's nice outside with my dog.
What’s one fun fact most people don’t know about you? I would say most people know this, but I am a huge fan of Broadway. I am slowly growing my collection of Playbills, but I love to see live shows whenever I can! I also love to sing and was cast in high school and college productions.
What drew you to Bettendorf Schools? I am from the Quad Cities, specifically Moline. I have lived in Columbia, Missouri since 2010 when I started school at the University of Missouri (MIZ!). When moving back to the area, I wanted to find a school I could plant some roots. I have heard nothing but great things about Bettendorf Schools and felt it was the right place for me!
What are you most excited about in your new role? I have taught 9th grade ELA most of my career. While I love my high school students, I am excited to take on a new challenge with middle schoolers!
