Bettendorf Community School District will celebrate the completion of the first phase of the Bettendorf Middle School Renovation Project with a New Classroom Addition Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Open House at 5:30 pm, Wednesday, August 19, at Bettendorf Middle School, 2030 Middle Road.
The new approximately 12,000-square-foot addition features 12 classrooms designed to support collaborative, flexible learning. It also includes a storm shelter designed to serve 1,300 people. The addition marks the completion of Phase 1 of the district’s five-phase, 2025–30 renovation project at Bettendorf Middle School.
The overall project represents an estimated $33.7 million investment in Bettendorf Middle School and will expand and modernize the school over five phases. Improvements are designed to provide collaborative learning spaces, flexible classrooms, improved circulation and natural light, enhanced safety and accessibility, and energy-efficient systems. Project partners are Russell Construction and Bray Architects.
The August 19 celebration will include remarks from district and community leaders, a ribbon cutting in partnership with the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, and an open house with tours.
“This new classroom addition is an exciting first step in creating learning environments that will serve Bettendorf students for years to come,” said John Elkin, Interim Superintendent. “We look forward to welcoming our community into the building and sharing the new spaces with them.”
