Meet our New Teachers. Welcome to Bettendorf! Paul Norton School logo with the knight and Bett graphics. Angie Harrell - Special Education - Paul Norton Elementary. #BETTerTogether

Tell us a little about yourself outside of work (family, pets, hobbies).
I have been married to my husband, Bruce, for thirty years. I have a daughter, Kelsey, and a son, Aaron. We have a cat named Sunny, and he is eight years old. I like to read in my spare time. Thrillers are my favorite, but anything fiction. If you haven't read any Freida McFadden books, give it a try; they are so easy to read, and she always puts in a twist.

What’s one fun fact most people don’t know about you?
A fun fact about me that most people don't know is that I have 50 first cousins. My mom and dad both have big families. When I met my husband, he was always amazed by how many people were together for holidays.

What drew you to Bettendorf Schools?
I have already worked for Bettendorf Schools for five years as a special education teacher at Paul Norton. Last year I took the year off working full time and did some guest teaching in the district. It was so refreshing to take a step back and work part-time. I enjoyed last year seeing what it was like teaching in every building in our district. Everyone works so hard no matter what position they have in this district! Thanks to everyone I met, you were so kind to me. This year I will be back at Paul Norton! I am so excited to be back with my Paul Norton Family! I will be teaching special education part-time. Thanks Bettendorf for giving me another chance to do what I love to do.

What are you most excited about in your new role?
I am most excited about returning to Paul Norton and working with the students and families who I have missed the past year.
