All registration material must now be returned to your student's school. Registration packets are no longer being processed at the Administration Center. If you have questions regarding registration, please call your student's school.

The Bettendorf Community School District instituted a district-wide, household, mail-in registration for all returning students for the upcoming 2011-2012 school year.
A registration packet containing new user-friendly forms were mailed to all student households the first week in July.
Each packet contains: a fee/payment sheet; transportation request with lists of the bus stops and routes; a Student Census/Health form; food service forms including the free & reduced application and BCSD Food Service account procedures; and a parent information pamphlet.
Return registration materials by mail in a pre-addressed return envelope (postage not included) provided in the packet OR drop the packet off in person at the BCSD Administration Center, 800 23rd St. Mail-in registration will replace the previous walk-in registration days held at the individual school buildings.
New families will continue to enroll at their home school.

Other Fees: Fees for Summer School courses will be collected from those who register and plan to attend. Fees for eye protective devices and ear protective devices will be collected by classroom instructors at cost for those classes that require them. |
Welcome to the Bettendorf Community School District. We thank you for your interest in our district, and we look forward to working with your student and your family. In order to facilitate enrolling your child in the Bettendorf Community School District, please present the following items at your enrollment appointment with the school.
l Proof of birth – child’s birth certificate or other legal document with his/her date of birth, such as a passport or baptismal certificate.
l Proof of residency – may include a utility bill, lease agreement, or an approved offer to purchase or build a home in the district. Families who reside with another family within the district may provide proof of residency by securing a notarized statement from the owner/renter of the residence stating the living arrangement. The notarized statement should
be delivered to the enrolling school.
l Immunization record – proof of up-to-date immunizations from doctor or former school district. l Name, address, and phone number of previous school district. Parents/guardians will be asked to sign a release for records which the Bettendorf Community School District will fax to the student’s previous district.
The buildings will complete the enrollment process by giving the family an enrollment packet to complete which includes an enrollment form, emergency contact information, and a free and reduced lunch/fees application.

Dental & Lead Screening Requirements
Dental Screening
Parents or guardians of elementary school children are required to provide evidence of a dental screening (done no earlier than age three and no later than age six) by a dentist, dental hygienist, physician, nurse or physician's assistant. High school students will be required to provide evidence of a screening by a dentist or dental hygienist within the previous year of enrollment. (Effective July 1, 2008.)
Lead Screening
The law (House File 158) which requires evidence of a blood lead test when children that enter school (i.e., before the age of 6 and provided to the elementary school in which the child is enrolling). The requirement applies to children enrolled in public and private schools and those who are home schooled.

Release of Student Information
The school district has designated the following information as directory information: student's name, address and telephone number; date and place of birth; parent(s)/guardian(s) name, grade level, enrollment status, participation in officially recognized activities and sports; weight and height of members of athletic teams; dates of attendance; degrees and awards received; and the most recent previous educational institution attended by the student; photograph and other likeness and other similar information. Additionally, student art, writing, or pictures may be posted and credited on the district’s web pages.
Parents who do not want directory information released about their child . . .
Should fill out the refusal slip available and notify their principal no later than two weeks following the start of the school year. Board Policy 505.2E1
